Making Sense / Making $.cents
From June 28 - July 22 the gallery presents Making Sense, an exhibition showcasing works by a selection of leading contemporary Canadian artists and craftspeople: Kai Chan, Chari Cohen, Brad Copping, Magdolene Dykstra, Marc Egan, Ryan Legassicke, Susan Low-Beer, Susan Rankin, Lois Schklar, Judith Tinkl. The artists in this exhibition are deeply engaged with materials and "making". Their materials are more than just the medium behind the work. They are central to the pleasures each artist derives from the making and in the viewers enjoyment and reading of the work. These artists works excite and explore the senses, the carnal and fleshly ones and those that stimulate consciousness and awareness.
Come out to our Strawberry Social, Making $.cents, on Thursday, July 14, 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of an opening reception for our current exhibition, “Making Sense”, the gallery is hosting a fundraising event on Thursday, July 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. This event, “Making $.cents”, is a summer social for friends of the Aird. Please come out, enjoy the exhibit and support the gallery. All funds raised will directly support our exhibition programme.
